The "I'm Tired of This" project addresses the need for enhanced music discovery experiences on Spotify, specifically for comfort listeners who often feel trapped in repetitive listening habits. The design challenge asked us to tackle the question, "How might we (Spotify) better serve music discovery behaviors using AI on new or existing surfaces based on both implicit and explicit signals?" For the "I'm Tired of This" feature, we approached the design challenge by focusing on enhancing music discovery on Spotify through AI. We aimed to create a solution specifically for "comfort listeners" who often feel tired by their usual playlists, yet desire new music without feeling overwhelmed.

A primary challenge was understanding the behaviors of comfort listeners, who tend to replay the same songs. While they crave novelty, they often find typical music discovery processes intimidating. This challenge required us to develop a solution that balances familiarity with new experiences.

We analyzed user feedback and identified the moments when listeners feel fatigued with their playlists, which helped inform our design strategy.

The feature was designed using Figma, which facilitated the creation of an engaging and user-friendly interface.
